"青磁"は中国に起源を持つ青色や緑色を基調とした美しい釉色を特徴とするやきものです。

日本には12世紀頃から伝来し、茶の湯の発達のなかで日本人の美意識によって選び出され大切にされてきました。

私は長い歴史のある”青磁”をさらに進化させ、新しい独自の"青磁"を作りたいと考えています。

I mainly make pottery called "Celadon".

"Celadon" is a type of pottery that originates from China and is characterized by a beautiful glaze color based on blue and green.

It was introduced to Japan around the 12th century, and during the development of the tea ceremony, it was selected and cherished by the Japanese aesthetic sense.

I would like to develop the long history of "celadon" and create a new and original "celadon."

私の磁器の作品（翡翠、天青）には、「天草撰下（あまくさえりげ）」という特別な磁器土を使用しています。

一般的な有田焼に使われる真っ白な土とは異なり、この土には鉄分が多く含まれており、少し黄土色がかった色味をしています。

一見すると扱いづらい土に見えるかもしれませんが、実はこの鉄分が、青磁の釉薬に深みと透明感を与え、美しい発色を引き出してくれます。

また、この土は選別過程で“撰下(えりげ)”とされ、本来なら使われないことが多いものです。私はこの土をあえて使うことで、土の命を無駄にせず、持続可能なものづくりを大切にしています。

貫入や月白の器のボディは「紅土(べにつち）」という名前の陶土でできています。この陶土は貫入が入りやすい特別に配合された陶土です。

古くから南宋官窯の優品は「紫口鉄足（しこうてっそく）」という紫がかった口辺と、鉄分を多く含む濃い茶色の陶土の高台でできています。私はこれに倣い配合した理想的な陶土を使用しています。

自然のままの素材がもつ力と、手しごとが重なって生まれる器たち。

My porcelain works (jade, sky blue) utilize a special porcelain clay known as "Amakusa-eri-ge."

Unlike the pure white clay typically used for Arita ware, this clay contains a high amount of iron, giving it a slightly yellowish-brown hue.

At first glance, it might seem like a difficult clay to work with, but in fact, this iron content imparts depth and transparency to the celadon glaze, drawing out its beautiful coloration.

Furthermore, this clay is often discarded during the sorting process as "rejects." By deliberately choosing to use this clay, I strive to avoid wasting the clay's inherent value and prioritize sustainable craftsmanship.

The bodies of crackled glaze and moon-white pieces are made from a clay called "benitsuchi" (red clay). This clay is specially formulated to readily develop crackle glaze.

Since ancient times, the finest pieces from the Southern Song Imperial Kilns featured a "purple rim and iron foot"—a purplish rim and a footring made from a rich, dark brown clay high in iron content. I use an ideal clay blend modeled after this.

These vessels are born from the power of natural materials combined with the skill of handcrafting.
